A large international operator, Malta licensed, running Microgaming with Evolution live tables, native New Zealand dollar support and one genuinely unusual bonus structure.
Two things about it change the picture considerably, and neither appears in most reviews of the brand.
One customer deposited over £8 million and lost more than £4 million over four years with no check on where the money came from. Despite indications the person may have had a gambling problem, they were allowed to keep depositing. The account was closed only after a member of their family raised concerns, and the customer subsequently asked to be self-excluded.
A self-excluded customer opened eleven accounts and deposited £494,000 across them, after having already chosen to exclude themselves. Self-exclusion is the strongest protection an operator offers. Eleven accounts is not a system missing one signal — it is a system not looking.
Since 28 June 2025, in the Department of Internal Affairs’ own terms, it is illegal under New Zealand law for any person or organisation except TAB NZ to promote or take bets on racing or sporting events from a person located in New Zealand. The measures came into force under amendments to the Racing Industry Act 2020, passed with support from all six parties in Parliament. The Department notified offshore operators to withdraw from the market with immediate effect, and this brand was among those named in reporting at the time.
Our BetVictor review covers another brand in the same position.
The sister casino brands include JackpotCity, Spin Casino, Spin Palace, Royal Vegas, Ruby Fortune, Lucky Nugget and Gaming Club, most operating under a separate Malta licence from the sportsbook. Our Spin Casino review, Gaming Club review and Lucky Nugget review cover three of them — and group terms commonly allow one welcome offer per person across all brands, so check before claiming at a second.
And there is current litigation.
A 100% match on the first deposit, with wagering in the 30× to 50× range — roughly the industry norm.
The Flexi Bonus is the differentiator, and a real one. It lets you withdraw part of your winnings before completing the full wagering requirement, forfeiting the remaining bonus funds in exchange.
Most bonuses are binary: clear the multiple or lose everything won with it. Being able to take a partial cash-out converts an impossible requirement into a choice, and on a large multiple that is frequently the better option. It is unusually player-friendly and worth understanding before you claim.
Two terms decide whether any multiple is workable: the maximum bet permitted while wagering, where exceeding it even once commonly voids the bonus and everything won with it, and the expiry window.
And check game contribution. Pokies typically count fully; table games sometimes at 10%, which makes a bonus used on live tables take five to ten times as long to clear. Run the numbers before choosing where to play it.
Around 500 titles, anchored on Microgaming with Evolution live tables. Smaller than some rivals.
Live stakes from NZ$1 at some tables, which is genuinely accessible. Our live casino guide covers how those work.
One figure about the headline jackpot. Mega Moolah returns about 88% in its base game, well below the roughly 96% of a standard pokie, because around 5% of every wager funds the prize pool rather than being returned to players. At NZ$1 a spin over 1,000 spins that is an expected loss near NZ$119 against roughly NZ$40 elsewhere in the lobby. Our online pokies guide covers the trade-off.
And one claim to disregard. A networked jackpot does not build faster because you play at one brand rather than another — the pool is shared across the software provider’s casinos worldwide.
New Zealand dollars are selectable at registration, and the warning is worth repeating: set it then, because changing it later is often not possible.
Withdrawals run to about 24 hours by e-wallet and two to five business days by card or bank transfer.
Complete identity verification early, not at the withdrawal. The documents are the same either way, and it removes the most common cause of payout delays.
On POLi: it connects directly to your bank without a card, which is true — and it does so by having you enter your internet banking username and password into a third party’s interface. Consumer NZ has warned this probably breaches your bank’s terms and conditions, and the major New Zealand banks have told customers not to share their login details. Regulated open banking went live here on 1 December 2025 and keeps the authorisation inside your own bank’s app. Our casino deposit methods page covers the alternatives.
Do not sideload an installer file. Some reviews of this brand direct Android users to download one from the operator’s website. That requires permitting installs from an unknown source, and the permission stays on — every subsequent file from that source installs without the check.
And the usual explanation for the absence is wrong. New Zealand has been on Google Play’s approved country list for real-money gambling apps since 2021. The barrier is the second half of the policy: the developer must also hold a valid operating licence issued by the gambling authority in that country, and no online casino holds a New Zealand one. Apple applies the same structure, which makes any claim of an app in the New Zealand store worth checking yourself. Our Android casinos guide covers the detail.

Online casino gambling is governed by the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026, in force since 1 May 2026, with regulations following on 3 July. It is in force — not a bill before Parliament.
Expressions of interest opened on 17 July 2026 with a NZ$19,000 fee, followed by an auction and full applications, for up to fifteen licences — one brand each, and no operator may hold more than three. From 1 December 2026, operators that have not entered the process must stop serving New Zealanders, with penalties up to NZ$5 million; those that applied may continue until their application is decided or 1 July 2027.
Licensed operators are expected in 2027, with a public register, a bonus cap of the lesser of NZ$100 or 200% of the deposit, and self-exclusion effective within 24 hours.
On a group with this many brands, at most three could follow the operator into a licensed New Zealand market. Our New Zealand gambling laws guide sets out the timeline.
Free, confidential support is available in New Zealand at any hour: the Gambling Helpline on 0800 654 655 or free text 8006, and PGF Services on 0800 664 262.
Our self-exclusion guide covers bank gambling blocks and device blocking software — both of which work regardless of what any operator offers, and neither of which can be defeated by opening another account.
You must be 18 or older to gamble online in New Zealand.
This page is published for information. It is not financial, legal or gambling advice, and nothing on it is a recommendation to gamble or an endorsement of any operator. You must be 18 or older to gamble online in New Zealand.
This page covers the casino product only. Since 28 June 2025, only TAB NZ may lawfully accept sports or racing bets from a person in New Zealand. Nothing here recommends, promotes or facilitates betting with any other operator, and the prohibition is set out because a reader is entitled to know it applies.
The regulatory settlement described is a matter of public record, was paid in full, concerned a period ending before 2020, and was followed by substantial required remediation. It is included because a reader is entitled to know an operator’s compliance history, not as a suggestion of current wrongdoing. References to court proceedings describe filings and allegations; those proceedings are contested, jurisdiction has been challenged, and no findings have been made.
Licensing, ownership, bonus terms, withdrawal limits, payment methods and country availability all change, sometimes within weeks. Which entity and licence cover a given account depends on where it is registered; confirm the operating company and licence number in the site’s own footer and on the regulator’s own register before you deposit. Expected-cost figures are long-run averages, not predictions of any session, and no bet described has a positive expected return.
Gambling costs money over time by design. No bonus or licence changes that. Set a deposit limit before your first deposit rather than after a losing session. Free, confidential support is available in New Zealand 24 hours a day on 0800 654 655, or by free text to 8006.
Yes. In March 2020 the Gambling Commission of Great Britain imposed a record £11.6 million settlement for anti-money-laundering and social responsibility failings across seven high-spending customers.
One customer deposited over £8 million and lost more than £4 million over four years with no source-of-funds check, and was closed only after a family member raised concerns. A self-excluded customer opened eleven accounts and deposited £494,000. Around £5.8 million passing through the business was found or suspected to be proceeds of crime.
Not necessarily. The settlement was paid, extensive remediation was required, and the failings are historical. A visible enforcement record means a regulator with real powers was watching — more than most casinos serving New Zealand can say.
No. Since 28 June 2025, only TAB NZ may lawfully take sports or racing bets from a person in New Zealand, and this brand was named in reporting on the change.
Super Group (SGHC) Ltd, incorporated in Guernsey and listed on the New York Stock Exchange. It also owns JackpotCity, Spin Casino, Royal Vegas, Ruby Fortune, Lucky Nugget and Gaming Club, among others.
It lets you withdraw part of your winnings before completing the full wagering requirement, forfeiting the remaining bonus funds. Genuinely unusual and often the better option on a high multiple.
An iOS app is claimed; check the store yourself. Do not sideload an Android installer — use the mobile browser and add a home-screen shortcut.
Check the cashier. Several offshore operators have closed to new New Zealand registrations during the licensing transition.
